Firefighters endorse Howard Wayne for City Council

The San Diego City Firefighters Local 145 announced their endorsement of Howard Wayne for City Council in District 6.  They cited his experience as a prosecutor and his understanding of public safety issues as the primary reasons.

"Howard is a long-time prosecutor and a former legislator," said Frank Declerq, Firefighters President.  "He has proven his commitment to public safety and to the people of San Diego.  We are proud to endorse him."

Howard Wayne has spent more than 30 years as a Deputy Attorney General.  He prosecuted some of the most serious crimes including rapes, robberies, murders and burglaries, and worked to protect consumers and small businesses from fraud. He also served as a State Assemblyman, where he authored bills to protect our beaches and bays and bring us a citywide curbside recycling program.

"We have serious public safety challenges in San Diego, including brownouts to meet our budget deficit," said Howard.  "Improving fire and medical emergency response services will be one of my top priorities."
